James C. Cochran - Principal
An enormous curiosity to discover how things work -- and a
desire to make them work better -- is at the core of James
Cochran's career. His professional training has focused on
building systems: a degree in architectural technology,
studies in electrical engineering, and a three-year
participation in the Cornell University Facilities Management
program. Cochran's long-term involvement in restoring historical
structures provides a counterpoint to his mastery of
three-dimensional modeling, both as a practitioner and college
instructor.
Cochran is a 25+-year member of the National Trust for Historic
Preservation and member of the Vollintine-Evergreen Community
Association, known for the creative promotion and protection
of its inner-city historic neighborhood. He also is a member
f the Sears Tower Advisory Board, a group exploring the
renovation and re-use options for the 1.4 million square foot
building constructed in 1928.
